1. Individual Meetings to Discuss the Appraisal Process - There are still four (4) dates left to meet with tax staff to discuss the appraisal process. Interested residents are asked to contact the Tax Office at 919-560-0300 or visit www.dconc.gov/taxhelp to register to attend any of the sessions listed below.

Southwest Regional Library: Tuesday, February 26th, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
East Regional Library: Wednesday, February 27th, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Administrative Building II: Thursday, February 28th, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
South Regional Library: Friday, March 1st, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Please note the deadline to schedule a meeting has been extended to Thursday, February 28th.

2. Durham County, State Officials Announce the Expansion of AveXis, Inc., in RTP - Durham County Government played a pivotal role in an official announcement at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center on Monday, February 18, 2019, where gene therapy company AveXis, Inc., and the North Carolina Department of Commerce announced a doubling of the expansion of AveXis' manufacturing center in Durham County. The $60-million expansion will bring an additional 200 jobs that offer a spectrum of employment opportunities that exceed the County's average pay. AveXis, which develops treatments for rare and life-threatening neurological diseases, previously announced it would expand in May 2018 and create 200 jobs with a $55-million investment at its facility located inside Research Triangle Park.
