1. Celebrating Recovery: September is National Recovery Month - Individuals and agencies work to raise awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and celebrate those that recover. Recovery Community of Durham host Durham Celebrates Recovery on September 14, 2019 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Durham Central Park located at 501 Foster Street.
This is a FREE event and the public is invited to enjoy speakers, live music, healthy events and information about provider services. For more information, please contact Robert Thomas at recoverycommunityofdurham@gmail.com
2. Durham Reads Together: One Month, One Book, One Community - Join the Conversation as Durham Reads Together strives to strengthen the community through a biennial celebration of reading. During the month of September - October, the book selection is The Best of Enemies by Osha Gray Davidson with the first discussion being held on September 17th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library.

3. Durham County Office of the Sheriff Hosts NC Bike Safe - The Durham County Sheriff's Office has partnered with BikeSafe-NC and invites motorcyclists to participate in Rider Skills Days. To see this year's schedule and register, please visit www.durhamsheriff.com/services
4. Open Enrollment Extended for Medicaid Beneficiaries - The Department of Health and Human Services announced that it will extend open enrollment for Medicaid beneficiaries and move to a statewide transition to managed care on February 1, 2020.
